Walking Tour Vignettes
Start date: 3 June, 2017
End date: 31 July, 2017
The Steveston Historical Society is celebrating Steveston’s past by enhancing the existing walking tour programs offered through Steveston Museum.
From June 2017, a series of heritage vignettes using costumed interpreters (who also happen to be very talented high school drama students) will accompany our summer walking programs.
Steveston's history demonstrates several elements that are integral to Canada's cultural make-up: multicultural community, perseverance through hardship, and pride in its accomplishments. The plays will reflect these qualities, encourage residents and visitors into a deeper understanding about our community, and leave a lasting impact for current and future generations.
Booking is required. Further details will be posted online at www.richmond.ca/stevestonmuseum as they come available.
Nature of the Project Reach
Residents and visitors to Steveston will enjoy these performances during a peak season for the village.
The Walking Tour Vignettes project is committed to fostering engagement in heritage programming, and involving a variety of contributors from commercial, heritage, performance, and educational backgrounds.
We intend for this project to be an ongoing, annual occurrence; all materials and costumes will be maintained and reused multiple times. Our storytelling will leave a lasting impact for current and future generations within our local community.
