Nature of the Project Reach
This project will be spanning all thirteen of Canada's provinces and territories. In an effort to create a complete picture of the Canadian identity, we believe it is necessary to delve into the experiences and lives of all Canadian's.
35, 000 kilometres. 13 provinces and territories. 6 months. 4 wheels. 1 woman.
"What does it mean to be Canadian?"
Over a six-month period in 2017, we will be travelling the entirety of Canada in an effort to answer this 150-year-old question.
Paddle and Pine’s goal is to provide barrier-free online access to arts and culture in Canada, with a focus on local and independent artistry. Throughout a six-month period, we will be photographing and documenting our travels. A mobile studio will be created to house and develop content that will be shared across our social media. The final product will be a photographic essay exploring the Canadian identity and how it is perceived across the country.
Through the creation of an interactive online space where people can contribute to the project as it progresses, we will be able to showcase Canada through the eyes of Canadians.
Promotion, funding, and collaboration are the three key elements to the success of this project. Here's how you can help: Promotion o Sharing of our content and project Funding o Directly supporting the creation and maintenance of the project Collaboration o Connecting with anyone with a similar vision who is available to meet along this journey
