Residential & Seeds of Hope Programs
Start date: 1 January, 2017
End date: 31 December, 2017
We service homeless pregnant youth and work to engage these youth in activities in the community to create a solid support network for them. For Canada's 150th we are planning to showcase our diversity and pride in Canadian culture and history for the community to see through art, written work and articles. Art pieces will include a picture frame of all the babies born at Shifra Homes during Canada's 150th to celebrate the opportunities these lives have received compared to 150 years ago. We are also planning to host a summer BBQ to bring our community together on Canada Day.
Nature of the Project Reach
We are the only maternity residence in all of Halton and Peel Regions, and we accept women from these regions and surrounding areas as well.
We would like to hold an inclusive celebration for our community while also embracing the different ethnicities, religions and upbringings. We want to showcase the achievements that have been made in Canada for women's rights and children's rights over the last 150 years.
