Nature of the Project Reach
The 12 days of planned activities will bring an estimated 120,000+ visitors to our Region on the Loyalist Parkway. The Economic impact will be felt in Loyalist Township, the Greater Town of Napanee and Kingston. The Bath Rendezvous Tall Ship portion of the planned events will be the Marquee Event of the 150 Celebrations in our Region. This Event on the heels of hugely successful events in 2012 & 2016 has made the 1812 Discovery Centre and the Fairfield-Gutzeit House a world-class facility housing critical pieces of our Marine Heritage. This will help the Society to attach further world-class opportunities to our Region and help to grow the Legacy!
The Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta will create several opportunities for business and tourism in Bath and the surrounding area. Much more than just a race for the crews of these vessels, the regatta will provide the general public with a rare opportunity to experience setting sail on a tall ship. Visitors to our event will be able to board the ships and enjoy cruises with the crew. The Port of Bath will also be hosting special night-time excursions for our corporate sponsors, featuring dancing and live music on board. As the host to ships coming from all across Canada and the USA, we will also run special events for the crews, such as a 5 km race, soccer games, and a pig roast. These events will integrate the crews of the tall ships with our own community, in the larger celebration of Canada 150. The Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta will be an opportunity for all to take part in this momentous occasion in the history of our nation.
