End date: 29 July, 2017
Paddle to the Pig is a community celebration event aimed at engaging the communities along the north shore of Lake Huron in an activity that not only celebrates our region’s rich Voyageur history but focuses on the future shared goal of sustainable health care.
Join us on Saturday, July 29, 2017 for Canoe, Kayak, and Wacky Watercraft races on the Thessalon River, followed by a Pig & Corn Roast, live music, and games for the whole family at Peace Park!
Let’s celebrate Ontario’s 150th anniversary by participating in a fun, educational, and healthy activity.
Nature of the Project Reach
Paddle to the Pig targets residents and visitors in the North Shore Health Network's (NSHNs) catchment area, from Spanish to the Township of MacDonald, Meredith, and Aberdeen Additional. These rural communities are home to youth, families, seniors, indigenous peoples, and numerous minority groups.
The NSHN Foundation aims to build civic engagement, community pride, and confidence in the future by uniting the numerous rural communities in the area in a shared celebration which promotes healthy activity and keeping local health care within reach.
