North Atlantic Fisheries Ministers 2017 Conference

The North Atlantic Fisheries Ministers' Conference (NAFMC) is the only Ministerial level forum dedicated to North Atlantic fisheries issues. The forum was a Canadian initiative beginning in 1995 and has proven useful in generating Ministerial discussions and building relationships. It is not a decision-making forum. Canada, the European Union, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and the Russian Federation all participate at the Conference.
Nature of the Project Reach
This international event will receive national and regional media attention.
The NAFMC provides a unique opportunity for formal and informal bilateral and multi lateral engagement with participant States on issues such as shared fish stocks, regional and bilateral fisheries management and global fisheries governance.
