MC2: Crowdsourcing Canada 150
Start date: 1 January, 2017
End date: 1 January, 2018
MC2 is a free mobile social networking app that rewards young people for tracking their positive actions (called microactions) through photos and videos. One micraction can be done by one, five, fifty or five million people simultaneously, crowdsourcing social action campaigns from the ground up.
In the wake of Canada's 150th anniversary, we will launch an exciting campaign to crowdsource what it means to be Canadian. Throughout 2017, we will invite young people across the country to track their own Canadian heritage moments through photos and videos on MC2.
MC2 will analyze the microaction data gathered throughout the campaign to create predictive models of future behavior. This involves using big math to analyze this big data – and all for a great cause.
Nature of the Project Reach

Create predictive models of future behaviour using big math to analyze the big data collected throughout the campaign.
We are currently exploring partnership opportunities, where for example, we are an official technology partner of the Ottawa 2017 bureau, among other awesome allies on this initiative. Please contact our Community Engagement Manager if you wish to discuss a possible collaboration.
