Start date: 23 May, 2016
End date: 25 August, 2017
The Sons of Scotland were established in Ottawa in 1896, marking 120 years of supporting our community, providing free instruction in pipes and drums to anyone wishing to learn, and representing Ottawa and Canada during our trips. In addition to being loud and colorful, our band's volunteers help us donate 50% of our work to charities in Ottawa and Scotland, and we encourage young people in our city to come out and learn with us.
To help mark our 120th anniversary, we have a unique opportunity to perform in the Perth 200 celebrations in Ontario, and to then represent Perth in their twin city in Scotland - as well as playing at Scone Palace - the seat of kings, celebrating its 50th year welcoming visitors to its amazing venue. The Sons will also compete at the World Pipe Band Championships, represent Canada in the Glasgow RSPBA parade and play along with their Scottish and Australian players for the Royal Blind Charity. And one of their benefactors and supporters is moving home to Aberdeen this month, and we want to surprise him with a show to help him make the journey home easier with love from his Canadian friends.
It is an honour to play in this band, to bring our music to so many people, and with your support of only $10, you can be part of our journey and part of our history. Your kindness, generosity and love of the music help us do what we do, every day. We all thank you, so very much. Visit our link at https://fundrazr.com/617Zxd?ref=ab_f5dHaf
Nature of the Project Reach
This project will support youth and players who are trained by the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band, allowing them to continue performing in Ottawa and in the UK during their annual trip.
To raise funds for travel, to help us support charities and shows in Ottawa and Scotland, and to bring our music to an international audience.
Donors of all types can help at concerts, and sponsorship support is always appreciated.
