Fanshawe Frolic: The Confederation Ball
Start date: 5 August, 2017
End date: 6 August, 2017
Come learn the dances the Fathers of Confederation would have done as they celebrated the formation of the Dominion of Canada in 1867 with Dance Mistress, Mme. Stephens. Workshops, country supper, ball, and Sunday afternoon family dance.
Period costumes are encouraged but not required, no previous dance experience required. At the Saturday workshops, Dance Mistress and Historian, Mme. Cathy Stephens will teach you all the basic and simple steps you need to know to be able to do all the dances at the ball. Join us afterwards at the village for a country supper followed by dancing to authentic dance music of the era.
Sunday there is more fun at the Family Frolic featuring period music and simple dances that are fun for the whole family.
Tickets for the whole weekend are $50. plus HST per person. That includes a 2 day pass to the Village, 2 dance workshops, a full country supper, the evening ball and the Family Frolic informal dance on Sunday.
A partner is not necessary.
