A project to see the City of Ottawa, the Nation's Capital declared officially bilingual for the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Confederation
Nature of the Project Reach
A bilingual national capital will affect all Canadians, whether they are travelling to or visiting the City of Ottawa, or simply feeling a sense of belonging or pride in the fact that the nation's capital reflects the linguistic duality of the country. As well, all persons from all over the world should benefit from the bilingual nature of the City.
To convince Ottawa City Council to ask the province of Ontario to amend the 1999 City of Ottawa Act that created the amalgamated City in 2001, to include its bilingual nature in full respect of the equality of both of Canada's official languages.
Persons may show their support for the project by signing in to the Web Site, adding their name to the petition, filling out the form to send a message to Ottawa City Council, becoming a member of Dialogue Canada and sending a financial contribution to the project.
