Are We Not Drawn Onward, We Few, Drawn Onward To (A) New Era?
Start date: 11 March, 2017
End date: 11 March, 2017
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra has co-commissioned two minute orchestral works from 38 partner orchestras, hailing from every Canadian province. The Red Deer Symphony Orchestra, being one of the partnering orchestras, selected Dr. Cheryl Cooney to compose one of the sesquies, entitled "Are We Not Drawn Onward, We Few, To (A) New Era?" which is set to premiere first in Red Deer and then in Toronto as part of the larger project: Canada Mosaic.
Nature of the Project Reach
Our part of this project will reach attendees from throughout central Alberta. The sesquies will go on to be performed in Toronto, Ontario and included in the national (in scope) project being undertaken by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra: Canada Mosaic.
Our goal is to actively be a part of celebrating Canada’s rich musical past, present, and future through performance, education, innovation, and collaboration—in our province.
