33.Fort St. John North Peace Museum Exterior Renovations
Start date: 1 May, 2017
End date: 31 May, 2017
This project will renovate the exterior of the Fort St. John North Peace Museum, making it more attractive and drawing in tourists and residents. It will see the installation of Hardie Plank along the north and south sides of the museum which will match the planking on the previous addition at the back of the building. This Hardie Plank will be moisture and rot resistant, durable, unsusceptible to pests, fade-resistant, and weather withstanding.
Nature of the Project Reach
This project will help preserve and protect artefacts that are important to Canadians in northern British Columbia and across the country by making the installation of this Hardie Plank siding possible. This funding will give residents of Fort St. John and the North Peace region of British Columbia a more attractive museum exterior to be proud of. This will help attract more visitors and locals to the museum and lead to them learning more about the community’s past.
