2017 Waterloo Region Youth Symposium
Start date: 12 April, 2017
End date: 12 April, 2017
The Youth Symposium is a unique and exciting program for Grade Eight students throughout Waterloo Region. The program inspires and engages youth in a relevant, accessible and easy way. The presenters share information that give students ideas and tools to build confidence, stay positive and make better choices, which gives them a better chance to be successful and become healthy adults...all to build a vibrant and healthy community for the future.
Nature of the Project Reach
The Youth Symposium is available for up to 2,000 Grade 8 students and their teachers in Waterloo Region.
Inspire and better equip students with ideas, tools and strategies that enhance their ability, motivation and confidence to cope effectively with their daily challenges and opportunities, as they enter high school. This will help them make better choices and to grow to become better citizens and contribute to building a healthy community they live in. We want to build on the success of the Youth Symposium and showcase Canada's 150th celebration. We have an audience of 3,000 youth over the two days and will provide a short presentation and give information on what makes Canada so special and celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary, to inspire a deeper understanding of our history and how lucky we are to live in Canada.
